I don't claim to know what I'm talking about. I have no qualifications to speak of and my opinions are subjective. My thoughts and opinions must therefore be taken with a pinch of salt and examined on their own merits simply as ideas. What is true? Why is it true? This is the basic question being asked by philosophy. Some of the ideas put forward by the philosophers accepted as "great" have since been demonstrated to be false. It does not invalidate them as philosophers. Their ideas were only ideas too until they were applied to society. We had no way of knowing whether they were false or true because until then they were only theories. It is necessary to be able to examine old ideas for truth in order to grow. If we cannot examine ideas for truth or error we cannot discard false beliefs. 

I'm nobody special and I make no claims about my opinion being a qualified one. I'm just someone with a blog and an opinion. If it makes you think, even if you don't agree with me, that's really all I'm shooting for.
